Use This Free Tool To Help Shed Those Extra Pounds
by Shin Ohtake on Monday, April 20, 2009 • 5 Comments
I recently got a email from one of our MAX Workout Club members (Thanks Tony!) about a tool he uses to keep track of his calories. I know… counting calories… who has the time right? But the truth is it’s necessary if you’re serious about losing weight. It’s sort of like keeping a food journal—once you get started it’s actually not that bad.
(Free calorie counter from LabPixies.)
The great thing about this tool is that you can be as detailed as you want to be or as general as you want to be. The most important thing is that you have a good idea of what it is that you’re putting into your body. This will make sticking to your dietary plan sooo much easier.
The only minor hassle is customizing your food data. You’ll need to put foods along with their calories and nutritional components into the program at first, but after that it’s a cinch. Most of us end up eating about 80 - 90% of the same things over and over again so it won’t be something you’ll have to very often.
There are plenty of different types of diets out there, but in the end it does come down to one thing. Calories in vs. calories out. Check out this simple tool… I guarantee you that it’ll make your life so much easier and you’ll be amazed at how much it’ll help you eat right and keep your bad habits in check, so you can get results even quicker.

Cool tool! Very nifty. Like how you can add it to your iGoogle, toolbar, or Yahoo account.

I just want to say thanks shin for helping me to lose 42 lbs! I started with the biggest loser and kept hitting plateaus. I found your site and your methods are spot on! I will never go back to the machines or the same routine. I am now maintaining and having no problem keeping it off! My metabolism is staying up high with just 3 days of 1 hr. workouts and your methods are truly total body workouts! At final weigh in I saw the 34 other people and most had lost a smaller percentage of weight than I did. Many had the saggy skin and the sunken face. I didnt have any of that and still managed to take 2nd and do it the healthy way. I too have used a calorie counter service. The one I chose was calorie counter about.com. It is monitored by a nutritionist that not only monitors the site with her helpers, but also grades you on every food you eat. By the end of each day I mainly had A’s which meant My diet was very nutriously sound. Plus they have bmi scales, chat, support, charts for protein, fat, and carbs you have consumed. This is also a free site. She recommends you lose only 2lbs a week. But you can do what you want. From this site I learned I am hypoglycemic and I needed omega 3 in my diet. I will never try another site. Now that I am maintaining I can almost recite a foods calories. Atleast the ones I like to eat. I also learned that around 70% of all dieters tend to underestimate the calories they consume. Keep up the good work and check this site out if you get a chance too! Mary

That is great advice Mary! I’ll check it out because with my PCOS I have to watch my carbs and I’m also hypoglycemic with high insulin.I get blood sugar drops suddenly and end up grabbing bread and peanut butter.Once my blood sugar dropped to 21 and I was going into shock,my husband had to grab a spoon full of sugar and some juice and feed it to me to raise it back up.I have noticed my blood sugar tends to stay around 50,so it’s usually on the low side.I’d like to find a way of controlling these levels.

I control my spikes and decreases by eating more times in the day. I will eat mini meals 5 times a day or more. The thing I like about this site is they also regulate you in a nutritional sense. If you watch the grading you can be sure you are eating a correct fat, protein, carbs, vitamin, salt diet. I learned another thing from this site. That alot of diet foods contain tons of salt! My family has problems with high blood pressure and nipping the salt now will hopefully keep me from having to take a medication for high blood pressure in the future. That and regulating my weight. Hope you love it as I did! Mary

Yeah I guess it’s a great idea. So many people eat so much crap they need all the help they can get.
If you are so worried about being fat…stop eating crap, people.
